Chicken Pox please go away!

Ok so it has been a week tomorrow, and we are just waiting for them all to crust over now (gross but true). L has had no school all week and is getting a bit fed up now. It has been a tough week for her.

The fever kicked in about halfway through, she was very hot but kept saying she was freezing. The Monday night she hardly slept at all, and felt all wrong as she described it. Tuesday she fell asleep at 1830, something she has not done in years! I managed to get her upstairs somehow, and there she slept till about 10am.

I think the worse bit for L has been looking at herself in the mirror. And I for the first time became aware that although not even 9 yet she is very self aware, and vain almost. There has been tears over missing the holiday, but nearly as many have flowed due to the spots on her face. When walking to her dads house yesterday she hid in a hood and tried to cover her face with her hair.

L is also concerned about going back to school with spots. I however keep saying she is beautiful with or without spots. Is a good lesson to show her that internal beauty is what matters anyway. And that she should not judge people by what they look like.

So that is our week. She'll be all set for school on Monday, hurray! Just hope she hasn't missed too much and that she doesn't cry when walking in. And please kids be kind :D
